Un couple parfait: Unitechnik and Exotec will go hand in hand in the future. With the new partnership with the French technology company, the general contractor is adding an innovative storage and picking solution for small parts to its portfolio - the Skypod system. Interested customers can find out more about the many possible applications of the intralogistics solution at LogiMAT 2023 at booth H20 in hall 1.
Just in time for LogiMAT 2023, Unitechnik will appear as a new integration partner of the technology company Exotec. The start-up from France was founded in 2015 and has its headquarters in Lille. Meanwhile, the system provider employs around 600 people at four locations worldwide. Exotec reached an important milestone in 2022, when it was named France's first industrial unicorn with a company valuation of over one billion US dollars. The start-up owes this growth primarily to a solution developed in-house for the intralogistics of small parts, the Skypod system.
With the Skypod system, Exotec has developed an innovative storage and picking solution for small parts. Several mobile Skypod storage robots move freely over an area and climb up shelves up to 12 meters high. There they pick up containers or trays and transport them autonomously to the picking stations. Because the warehouse robots operate within a fenced area, they can reach speeds of up to four meters per second. Moreover, they are the only mobile components in the entire warehouse area; the rest of the system is made of steel and plastic. All in all, the flexibly designed goods-to-person system offers a wide range of possible applications, which Unitechnik will be able to incorporate in various logistics facilities in combination with the UniWare warehouse management system in the future.
Exotec solution complements Unitechnik portfolio
In the realization of a logistics plant, the technologies of different suppliers are usually used. As a general contractor, Unitechnik supports its customers in selecting the optimum components for the respective process. In doing so, the Wiehl-based company can draw on a broad portfolio of technologies from proven partners - including, in the future, the Skypod system from Exotec.
At LogiMAT at booth H20 in hall 1, Unitechnik will present how the storage and picking solution for small parts can be intelligently integrated into the material flow.
