Cargo terminal for Mitchell Cotts in Kenya

German engineering know-how optimises the movement of goods in Nairobi: our joint venture ACUNIS founded in cooperation with AMOVA has been awarded its second contract in Africa. ACUNIS is building a 9,000 m² cargo terminal at Nairobi airport for the Kenyan logistics service provider Mitchell Cotts. The facility will be used for the movement of fresh and dry goods, reaching a throughput of 80,000 tons per year in the first expansion stage. An expansion to 150,000 tons is already planned as part of the concept. The cargo terminal has an area for dry goods and one for perishables in order to optimise the flow of freight. Both areas are equipped with high-bay racking, euro pallet storage, a small parts warehouse and a quarantine section. Our proven warehouse management system from UniWare is being deployed in addition to automation and conveying technology from ACUNIS. As a result, Mitchell Cotts will be able to manage the movements of all goods at any time with fast, targeted intervention in case of problems.
