ELBE ceilings: New control technology for perfect concrete mixtures

ELBE is the leading provider of prestressed concrete ceilings in Germany. One reason for this is: the high-quality concrete mixtures of which the components are made. In order to guarantee the high quality standards for the long term, Unitechnik now replaced the control technology of both concrete mixing plants in their Vockerode location. A Simatic-S7 control and the WinCC control system are used. We have perfectly customized both systems to the requirements of ELBE: A sensor-controlled moisture control and a new weighing technology were integrated, for example, which allow a precise composition of the concrete mixtures. Manual readjustment is now no longer necessary.

The project is a great example for cooperation within the Unitechnik Group: Unitechnik Systems in Wiehl contributed the industry know-how, the colleagues in Eisenhüttenstadt their expertise in process technology. Ultimately we created a sustainable solution that is easy to operate. With it, ELBE now not only produces high-quality concrete - the retrofit also reduced the volume of concrete waste by up to 9 percent.
