The Chinese construction group BAOYE built a demonstration plant for the production of precast concrete elements in Shaoxing, 200 km southwest of Shanghai. For the construction of the plant, the joint venture BAOMA was founded between the Chinese construction group and the German plant manufacturer Sommer Precast Technology. The importance of this showcase project can be seen from the great interest shown by state dignitaries at the opening ceremony. The Chinese state has set the goal of increasing automation in the construction sector in order to increase the speed and effectiveness of construction projects. Precast concrete technology is an essential element of this strategy.
The precast concrete plant is not intended to produce parts, but to demonstrate the operation of such a plant. It consists of a pallet circulation system, formwork robot with demolding function, concrete spreader, turnover unit and a high-bay warehouse as curing chamber. The entire fully functional plant was supplied and assembled by Sommer Precast Technology. Unitechnik contributed the latest computer technology with its UniCAM.10 master computer. In addition, the Wiehl-based automation specialist was responsible for the entire control technology.
In the future, BAOMA Managing Director Franz Springmann will convince customers in China of the advantages of this technology. BAOYE already operates several precast concrete plants.
The next productive precast concrete plants are also already being planned.
