Twelve UniLaser-projectors at Mischek

Mischek Systembau GmbH, a company of the TRABAG SE, located in Gerasdorf near Vienna for decades has been producing high quality precast reinforced concrete parts in production halls with an area of over 30,000 m². In the central manufacturing plant, six work stations were now equipped with laser projectors and thus new need for plotting of pallets has been removed.

The central part of the production facility, which produces mainly solid walls, is a traverser. The facility is equipped with an MRP-device which was used previously for plotting, three switch stations, five work stations for reinforcement and installation parts, three stations for concreting and compacting. The traverser transports pallets according to the work plans stored in the control computer UniCAM from one station to the next. The big advantage of the facility layout with traverser is variability. The pieces to be produced required very different processing times. The free access to each workstation avoids wait times.

Mischek tasked Unitechnik with replacing the plotting function of the MRP-device with a UniLaser-production facility. To this end, two switching and four work stations “concreting and compacting” were equipped with laser projectors. For each work station 2 projectors were mounted at a height of 3.65 meters. The comfortable configuration interface in the control computer UniCAM allows users the means of projection images. For each element it
is possible to define if projection should occur at the foot of the element (on pallet level) or on the upper side. Additionally, text information can be shown. By marking checkboxes, up to 16 images per laser station can be freely designed which are then called up in the plant via remote control.

A special feature of the facility is the adjustment function. The work station is not equipped with a centering function for pallets. Via the projection of a centering contour and the adjustment of the remote control the projection adjusts to the actual position of the pallet.

In this complex example, the advantages of integration of UniLaser-projectors with the control computer UniCAM become apparent. Work places and individual projection images allow optimized control of production and provide the worker with exact details of his work. Via remote access, problems in the laser projection can be analyzed and removed as with all other functions of UniCAM.
