Maintenance 2025: Unitechnik relies on UniWare-AI on AI-supported maintenance

Avoiding disruptions in logistics before they occur - this is made possible by UniWare-AI from Unitechnik Systems GmbH. The AI-based assistant for logistics systems optimizes maintenance processes by analysing operating data, detecting potential interruptions at an early stage and recommending proactive measures. At maintenance in Dortmund from February 19 to 20, 2025, Unitechnik will be presenting in Hall 4 at Stand C01 how companies can future-proof their logistics processes with UniWare-AI. Visitors will also learn how logistics systems can be brought up to the latest technical standards without interrupting operations.

Unforeseen failures in logistics can result in production not being supplied with components or customer orders not being delivered - challenges that can lead to massive losses in revenue. This is precisely where Predictive Service comes in: Potential problems are identified at an early stage so that companies can act before they lead to downtime or delays. UniWare-AI is an AI-based assistant from Unitechnik that supports logistics centers in making their maintenance processes more efficient. Integrated into the warehouse management system, the AI continuously analyzes operating data and recognizes patterns that indicate upcoming maintenance work. In this way, UniWare-AI identifies faults long before they can have a negative impact on operations. Based on historical and real-time data, it provides precise maintenance recommendations.

The AI tool analyzes each new data set, gains insights from it and thus continuously improves the accuracy of its predictions. Every order processed, every change in the material flow and every maintenance measure helps the learning logistics center to become increasingly intelligent. The more data that becomes available over time, the faster the AI model develops.

Cyber security requires proactive maintenance of control systems and IT
In addition to mechanical components, predictive maintenance also includes the predictive maintenance of electrical hardware and software. Against the backdrop of current security requirements - keyword cyber security - this topic is becoming increasingly important. One example: in future, the firmware versions of all active control components must be documented and kept up to date. “By taking measures at an early stage, we want to ensure that the integrated system is in a robust and secure state in order to guarantee smooth and trouble-free logistics processes,” explains Christian Mertens, Key Account Manager at Unitechnik.

Predictive maintenance and retrofitting in focus at the trade fair
This year's maintenance in Dortmund will therefore also focus on topics such as predictive maintenance and AI in maintenance. Unitechnik will be presenting AI-supported maintenance using UniWare-AI. The automation company will also be presenting its retrofit concepts for logistics systems. The digital twin ensures the safe renewal of technology without jeopardizing day-to-day business.
