What were the first 100 days at Unitechnik like? - Our trainees tell you all about it

Unitechnik welcomed six new trainees to Wiehl in August of 2015: Leonie Wenigenrath is training as an industrial management assistant. Jan Berndt, Erik Bonrath and Lukas Mann are becoming electronics technicians for industrial engineering. Tobias Hund and Johannes Litger are up-and-coming IT specialists. Now at the beginning of 2016, the trainees have been with us for more than 100 days already. What is their first impression of working life and of Unitechnik?

“It was clear to me at my first visit: This is where I want to work,” recalls Johannes Litger. “I find the fields in which Unitechnik is involved very interesting – especially the logistics systems that are being developed here.” Leonie Wenigenrath adds: “My time with Unitechnik has been very enjoyable so far, the people are friendly and I consistently feel supported. Beginning my training here was exactly the right decision.”

In usually three years of training, the new employees pass through all departments. Leonie Wenigenrath already familiarized herself with the head office, Materials Management and Purchasing. “I very much enjoyed my time in Purchasing since I was mostly able to work independently. Everyone was really helpful and looked after me when I had a question.” Unitechnik also offers additional programs for trainees to promote networking and getting to know each other. The joint English course every second Friday is one example. Site visits to customers are on the training agenda as well. Johannes Litger has especially vivid memories of the trip to see the system of the Unitechnik customer Soennecken in Overath: “The high-bay racking warehouse is an impressive structure and the tour of the logistics center was really exciting.” We are very happy about this initial positive feedback from our trainees. The six of them can look forward to the next 100 days.
