SIMATIC Programming 1 in the TIA Portal

Short title: TIA-PRO1, Duration: 5 days

    Prerequisites:

      Basic knowledge of automation technology
You can use the available online entrance test to ensure that the course you have chosen matches your skills.
This blended learning course combines web-based training (WBT) on the Internet with a 5-day classroom course: You will receive the WBT "PLC Knowledge for Beginners" and "SIMATIC TIA Portal Structured Programming" to prepare for the classroom part. This will increase your personal learning success in the classroom course.

        Description/learning objective:

The Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA Portal) forms the working environment for integrated engineering with SIMATIC STEP 7 and SIMATIC WinCC. In this first part of the SIMATIC TIA Portal programming training, we will teach you how to handle the TIA Portal, basic knowledge about the structure of the SIMATIC S7 automation system, the configuration and parameterization of the hardware and the basics of classic PLC programming. You will also gain an overview of operating & monitoring, PROFINET IO and the connection of drives.

After attending the course, you will be able to:

        • understand the basics of the interaction of TIA components
        • solve simple programming tasks with elementary STEP 7 instructions
        • operate the "TIA Portal" engineering platform safely
        • structure small SIMATIC S7 programs with the help of OBs, FCs and FBs
        • program simple system functions with elementary STEP 7 instructions in ladder diagrams (LD) or function block diagrams (FBD)
        • carry out simple commissioning of TIA components
