New white paper: Digital twin in intralogistics - vision and reality

The performance of a logistics system is defined by the interaction between people, processes and technology. Efficient logistics processes and ergonomic workstations should therefore be planned just as carefully as the material flow. Close coordination in the planning and implementation process is the most important prerequisite for ensuring that the future system optimally meets the customer's requirements: the customer can be optimally involved in the planning process via a digital twin. In order to have as little impact as possible on the customer's ongoing operations when setting up or converting systems, intralogistics systems can be virtually simulated and tested - here too with the help of a digital twin.

Imagine that a digital twin accompanies the logistics facility throughout its entire life cycle. Starting with the first planning meeting, through implementation to the operation of the logistics center. An image of the complex system that looks exactly like the original, reacts in exactly the same way, allows processes to run simultaneously, behaves in exactly the same way and, as soon as the system is in operation, depicts the current situation in real time. Creating a comprehensive digital twin for an individual industrial plant is currently not economically viable. However, there are already good approaches for individual project phases. Find out more about our vision and the real areas of application of the reality of digital twins of the digital twin of an automated intralogistics system.
