More and more orders with very few items: A.S. Création frequently faces this challenge. The wallpaper manufacturer - one of the leading producers in Europe - operates a "room storage" at the Wiehl location specifically for picking small orders. The automated small-parts storage (SPS) is called "room storage" simply because individual rolls of wallpaper are chiefly picked there - enough to wallpaper one single room.
The picking area of this SPS has now reached its capacity limits. With a comprehensive expansion, Unitechnik will now ensure that A.S. Création can supply its customers even faster in the future. Our solution provides for the integration of an additional picking area. Three workstations will be available there, where orders can be picked with the assistance of "Pick by Light" - an ideal requirement for fast order processing. Refurbishing the conveyor technology as well as the control system will be the second component of this retrofit. In the future, our warehouse control computer UniWare-LSR will coordinate all movements in the warehouse and report them to the existing warehouse management system. The control technology will also be completely converted to Simatic-S7 and connected to the warehouse control computer.
