Review of the fall trade fairs

Two trade fairs, two brands: Unitechnik and ACUNIS – our joint venture with AMOVA – attended international trade events over the past weeks.

Unitechnik presented its products and solutions at the Materials Handling Middle East in Dubai. Our presentation was focused on automation solutions for the food and fresh produce logistics sector. Numerous booth visitors learned about our current project for Emirates Airline, among other things. Driverless transportation systems are used for example in their new in-flight kitchen, and they ensure the automatic exchange of carriers between catering systems. This example illustrates a trend in the Near East: More and more companies there use autonomous systems to design their material flows.

Under the ACUNIS brand we presented our newest airport logistics projects during the inter airport Europe in Munich. The special feature: With virtual reality glasses, the cargo terminals became a reality before the eyes of our booth's visitors. They could move virtually through the systems at Mitchell Cotts in Kenya and those for Ethiopian Airlines in Addis Abeba. The latter was put into operation this summer. The cargo terminal also helps establish the Ethiopian airport as an international hub for cargo handling.
