SIMATIC Programming 2 in the TIA Portal

Short title: TIA-PRO2, Duration: 5 days

Prerequisites:

SIMATIC S7 knowledge equivalent to TIA-PRO1 and practical experience in applying the knowledge. You can use the online entrance test available to ensure that the course you have chosen matches your competencies.

    Description/learning objective:

The Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA Portal) forms the working environment for integrated engineering with SIMATIC STEP 7 and SIMATIC WinCC. The second part of the SIMATIC TIA Portal programming training builds on the knowledge acquired in the SIMATIC S7 TIA Portal Programming 1 training course with regard to TIA Portal incl. STEP 7, SIMATIC S7, operating & monitoring, connecting drives and PROFINET IO. You will expand your knowledge of complex operations and gain an insight into the programming languages Instruction List (IL), Structured Control Language (SCL) and S7-GRAPH. In addition to analog value processing and data management with complex data types, the course also looks at program-related error evaluation and handling. Building on this, you will learn how to display messages on the operating and monitoring system (HMI). The knowledge imparted will give you new impulses and ideas for efficient PLC programming.

After attending the course you will be able to:

    • understand the interaction of TIA components
    • Use classic program design methods
    • solve extensive programming tasks
    • program advanced functions, such as indirect addressing, in STEP 7
    • implement data management with the SIMATIC S7 automation system
    • use system blocks and blocks from the STEP 7 standard library
    • Program classic software error handling and evaluation
    • Configuring messages of the operating and monitoring system (HMI)
    • configure components of the TIA system consisting of SIMATIC S7, HMI, PROFINET IO and drive

You will deepen your theoretical knowledge through numerous practice-oriented exercises on a TIA system model. This consists of a SIMATIC S7-1500 automation system, ET200SP decentralized peripherals, TP700 touch panel, SINAMICS G120 drive and a conveyor model.
